Since our inception in 1989, responsible business has been at the heart of what we do – both on our trips and in each of our global offices. In fact, we believe we were the first global tour operator to have a dedicated Responsible Business department.
We're committed to remaining an industry leader in responsible business, and advocate for a range of important issues from climate change to human rights and to animal welfare. In 2020 we declared a climate emergency as part of Tourism Declares.
We realise our impact is stronger in numbers, and we work with a range of global partners to develop initiatives aimed at helping people and the planet to thrive.
Intrepid Joins the Australian Supplier Payment Code
Intrepid has voluntarily signed up to the Australian Supplier Payment Code, a voluntary, industry-led initiative launched by the Business Council of Australia. The code’s aim is to support small businesses by making payments in a timely manner to ensure healthy cashflow and working capital.
By signing up to this code, Intrepid commits to paying eligible Australian small business suppliers within 30 days of receipt of an approved invoice.
To be eligible for these payment terms suppliers must:
- have an Australian ABN, and;
- have no more than A$10 million revenue in the last financial year
For full details of the code, please refer to the Business Council of Australia website.
Suppliers must accept and adopt Intrepid Travel's Responsible Purchasing Policy, and applicable invoicing and payment processes.
